Equipment You'll Need
Ready to start earning? Be sure to check your equipment to make sure it's in good working condition and meets the client's specifications. We have also provided some suggestions for equipment that should be a good fit. (You are not required to purchase any of the ones that we have listed. Be sure to double-check that any equipment that you intend to purchase can meet your work and personal needs.)
A desktop or laptop with the latest Windows or Mac operating system will work just fine. It should have enough USB ports for a mouse, keyboard, and USB headset. If you already own a computer, you should be good to go.
One desktop monitor or your laptop screen will work just fine for most opportunities. However, having two monitors (or one if you have a laptop) allows you to work more efficiently as you can access client software programs much easier if they are on different screens.
A USB headset is required in order to speak with customers and client employees. It should plug directly into your computer.
A dialpad headset will allow you to place and receive calls. It is only required for some opportunities. (Please review all requirements for each opportunity before purchasing this item.)
A broadband internet service refers to high-speed internet. Most opportunities require it to be hardwired. Hardwired basically means that one end of the internet cord is plugged into your modem. And the other end is plugged directly into your computer. This type of connection is faster and more reliable than wifi. Broadband internet can be obtained via DSL, Cable, or Fiber Optic. It is required to access the client network and other services.
A hardwired landline telephone service refers to having a telephone (or dialpad) that is connected via a wall jack. It is only required for some opportunities. (Please review all requirements for each opportunity before purchasing this service.)
